This week Ipswich Tomcats u14's game was against the visiting Southend Swifts, and due to the margin of victory in the previous match between the two sides, Coach Drane took the decision to allow Luke Mascall-Wright to play up two age groups with the under 16's, and with Reis Pinnock away running cross country it was an opportunity to give his bench players their time in the limelight.

Ipswich Bobcats u14s expected a tough encounter on Saturday when they travelled to Brentwood to take on the Fire. Although they had beaten them by 28 points in their home game, they were aware that Brentwood’s star player Ellie Warden had got into foul trouble early and only played half the game.

Last Thursday 28 January, Ipswich Basketball Club hosted a trial to select players for the 2010-11 senior team at the Kesgrave Community Centre. We had a showing of 20 players from clubs in the local and surrounding area take part, as well as four juniors from our Under 16s and Under18s teams.It was an exciting evening for the club, as a long standing ambition by the Club’s Head Coach of the boys programme – Nick Drane – has started to take shape.

On Sunday, the u18 Tomcats travelled to Cambridge to take on the Cats. Cambridge has improved since our initial meeting at the beginning of the season. Coach Clint Wedderburn has done a great job with the Cats, making it difficult for opposing teams to play them. And Sunday was no exception.
