A road trip to the capital provided the u14's Tomcats with their first challenge of the new year, to play a Westminster Warriors team that we resoundingly beat at home by 136 points.

The first game of 2010 for the under 13 Tomcats, saw them host Brentwood Fire 2 at the Dome, this weekend. Through fixture re-arrangements due to the weather over the Christmas break, it actually means that the Tomcats have two away games against Brentwood Fire 1 and 2, in the following two weekends, respectively. So, with a tough schedule for the rest of the month and into early February, which sees the team play three away fixtures in a row, it was nice to start the New Year at home.

With the weather seemingly slightly better inland in Suffolk the u16 Bobcats took the decision to take the M11 and M25 to travel away to Brentwood this weekend. It proved to be the right decision as the route was totally clear. Of course hindsight is a wonderful thing.

While most teams enjoyed an extended break in national league action at Christmas, we headed off to Belgium on Boxing Day on our first international tournament in the Belgian city of Wevelgem.   The Wevelgem-Kortrijk Christmas tournament is in its fourth year and welcomed teams from Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, France and England. The tournament ran over three days commencing on December 26 and running through to December 28^th.
