Ipswich Bobcats u14s produced another very good team performance to beat Newham Youngblood at Holywells on Saturday.

Still buoyant from their victory against Southend, the Ipswich players were quickly reminded that they would have to work hard if they were to win against the quick Newham team.

The scores remained close throughout the first half, but the 7 Newham players started to tire in the 2nd half and Ipswich’s strength in depth and superior fitness were evident in the 3rd and 4th quarter, when they scored 53 points whilst limiting Newham to just 14.

The Ipswich coaches were able to give all 12 players court time and valuable game experience and the Bobcats can all be proud of their own contribution towards the final  98 – 48 score. Amongst very good performances, Bethany Catchpole’s all round performance was outstanding throughout the game.

Ipswich look forward to their next game at Holywells in 2 weeks’ time, when they meet league leaders Haringey…
