The u14 Tomcats travelled  to Brighton with just eight players to face a Brighton Cougars team that had lost just one game at home all season. The first quarter saw the Tomcats quickly establish their dominance, dominating the paint at both ends of the floor. The team has been working hard at restricting teams ability to get to the basket and forcing the outside shot. They did this well, however Brighton seemed to have luck on their side as they banked five three pointers in the period, making the scoreboard slightliy flattering to the home side.   Despite their long range accuracy the Tomcats held an eight point lead at the end of the first.

In the second the Tomcats already depleated squad was further damaged when both Robinson Maka and Reis Pinnock were called for a couple of questionable fouls, both had to sit with 3 fouls each allowing Brighton to gain the momentum. The score at the half was 53-52 to the Tomcats.

Both Pinnock and Maka wereo n the bench for the whole third quarter which was the Cougars chance to take the game by the scruff of the neck.   However, the Tomcats have quality players on their bench and up stepped Jordan Roberts, Henry French and Barabefi Vite to play key minutes in the period. Dan Wordsorth was battling on the boards and Sam Newman was finding Luke Mascall-Wright on the offensive end allowing the Tomcats to re-establish their eight points lead.

In the fourth with Maka and Pinnock back in the game Ipswich didn't look back and eventually extended their lead to nearly twenty.

"NASSA only won here by nine so we knew they were tough at home. Its good for the boys to have to battle to win and great to see the bench players step up and play key roles" Said Coach Drane.
